Following the inception and piloting of the “Cooperation model” that contributed to the employment of Roma returnees in three local self-governing units in Serbia – Nis, Subotica and Vranje during 2016 and 2017, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence (BFPE) and the Standing Conference of Roma Citizens’ Associations – The League of Roma are present the achievements of their model as well as the obstacles encountered during its implementation, within the auspices of annual international conference of the International Society for Health and Human Rights (ISHHR). The model was implemented in the framework of the project “Support to the Reintegration of Roma Returnees” dedicated to the employment, education and accommodation of Roma, whose asylum applications were rejected in the countries of the European Union.
