Support to Reintegration of Roma Returnees in Serbia: first homes are being refurbished!

United Nations Development Programme in Serbia (UNDP), Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence (BFPE) and Standing Conference of Roma Citizen Associations (League of Roma) are jointly implementing project “Support to Reintegration of Roma Returnees in Serbia”.

Aid is provided in the form of refurbishment of homes and enhancing employment possibilities of Roma Returnees. One of the major objectives of the project is to promote the cooperation model of reintegration – with cooperation between local self-governments, civil society organizations and private sector. Additionally, all of the reconstruction works are being implemented by the Roma Returnees themselves, who have working experience from abroad. They are organized and employed by the new cooperative “Mahala 1”, with the support of the project partners – UNDP, BFPE and the League of Roma.

We invite you to grasp a part of the working ambient in the pictures below.
