Understanding the foreign policy in a fast-changing world – Second event within BFPE Annual Seminar for alumni generation

28 participants of alumni generation of the Annual Seminar have come up with a series of insights into the reality and perspectives of international relations – from how some of the most powerful countries, like USA and India see our region, through consideration of foreign-policy position of our country, the proclaimed policy of neutrality and ambition for membership in the EU; to concrete challenges of cooperation between Serbia and NATO, and cybersecurity.

Symbolically, we decided to dedicate Annual Seminar 2017/2018 to our most valuable resource – alumni – who attended our programs in one of the previous iterations.

This time we were with EU policy researchers (dr Igor Novaković, dr Niklas Novaky, and Vladimir Petronijević); diplomatic representatives (Ambassador of India, H.E. Narinder Chauhan and Deputy Chief of Mission, U.S. Embassy in Serbia, Mr. Kurt D. Donnelly), official representatives of the Republic of Serbia (prof. dr. Tanja Miščević and Ambassador Branimir Filipović) and representatives of the international organizations (General Cesare Marinelli, Despoina Syrri and Milan Sekuloski). They help us to understand how international relations have changed; how are they changing and how will they change in the future with serious implications for our country.

The next seminar dedicated to alumni generation is planned for September 2018, when we will discuss the prospects of Serbia’s development – from the economy, demography and education perspective. Many thanks to our partners and donors – Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and of course, Council of Europe under whose auspices our School for political studies works since 2003.
