After successful conferences in Belgrade and Berlin, a special edition of the Balkan Dialogues at the Munich Security Conference, as well as the online conference on 1 July, we are convening once again a digital event amidst challenging times following the global outbreak of COVID19 and heightened tensions in the Western Balkans.
Given the latest developments in the region, as well as the re-start in dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia that took place in Brussels and Washington, our upcoming Balkan Dialogues aims to address substantive issues in Kosovo-Serbia the negotiation dialogue, including key elements of any future Serbia-Kosovo agreement and whether there is potential to strengthen regional cooperation in the Western Balkans.
At this meeting we plan to present a policy report which is a result of four expert meetings that took place during this summer, addressing four distinctive issues within the context of comprehensive agreement:
- Status of religious objects and cultural heritage of the Serb community
- Association of Serb-majority Municipalities
- Economy, property, and energy
- The “end game”: Kosovo and Serbia in the light of comprehensive agreement
