Women MPs and members of Women Parliamentary Network will travel on a two-day field visit to Prijepolje, on 5 June, organized by BFPE and OSCE Mission to Serbia.

The aim of the field visit is twofold:

  1. to support women active in local politics;
  2. to share experience and learn first-hand – MPs will get a chance to learn about the problems women experience in their local communities and what legislative changes are needed.

During the field visit, MPs will have the opportunity to talk to representatives of gender mechanisms of municipalities Prijepolje, Priboj and Nova Varos and councilors and local government representatives of Prijepolje. In addition, MPs will visit the Centre for social work Prijepolje and the local administrative offices. Since new elections for members of local administrative offices are approaching, this visit will also present a motivation to women candidates on the election.

Study visit agenda can be downloaded here (in Serbian language only).

This study visit, part of the project “Building Capacities of Women Parliamentary Network” is supported by the European Union and Embassy of Finland.
