The second training within the project “Youth Leading the Way to Security” was held on March 14–15 in Kragujevac and was dedicated to the development of local youth security priorities.

Following the introductory training, during which participants gained basic knowledge of the YPS agenda and advocacy, this second session focused on practical work and the application of acquired knowledge. Young people from Leskovac, Raška, and Priboj worked in groups to map key challenges in their local communities and identify priorities that will be further developed through project activities.

Through facilitated sessions, participants defined concrete issues affecting youth security, as well as initial solutions and recommendations for their improvement. A specific segment of the training was dedicated to peer exchange, where participants presented their ideas, received feedback, and further refined their proposals.

In the final part of the training, the focus was on developing communication skills for engaging with decision-makers, enabling young people to effectively present their priorities during the upcoming local policy dialogues.

This training represents an important step toward the next phase of the project, in which young people will have the opportunity to present their ideas to local authorities and work together on their implementation.

This activity was implemented within the project “Youth Leading the Way to Security”, supported through the RYCOgnizing YPS grant scheme, funded by the German Cooperation and implemented by the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO).
