The Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence and the Women Parliamentary Network have a pleasure of inviting you to the Women’s Pre-election Convention “Vote for Women”, held as part of the project „Women for Democracy and Equality“. The Convention aims at bringing the issues of greater participation and influence of women in politics to the general public attention during the campaign for the upcoming parliamentary elections. It also intents to underline the important role the gender equality plays in the overall development of a society and its institutions. The Convention also aims at enhancing the visibility of women candidates of all parties, promoting the gender equality as an aspect of political life, and encouraging more women to vote in the upcoming elections.

Women’s Pre-election Convention will be organized with representatives of all political parties and the coalitions that submitted lists for the parliamentary elections. It takes place on Saturday, 8 March, 10 – 11.30am, at Dom omladine Beograda, Americana Hall. We are very proud to announce that Prof. Marijana Pajvančić will officially open the Convention whereas prof. Tanja Miščević will hold the closing remarks.

All electoral lists to join the Women’s Convention will have an opportunity to present their platforms for improving the position of women in society. Based on a schedule, one candidate will be in front of each list to present her views on the importance of women’s political participation, and the entire Convention would send a joint message of support to women in political and social life.

Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence hopes that you will recognize the importance of such a cross-party event and join us in campaigning for the support to all women who have accepted a great responsibility of being nominated for future MPs.

We invite you to register as of 9.30 AM. Please confirm the attendance to our colleague Ms. Sladjana Komatina via

[email protected] or 011/3036520 by Thursday March 6, 2014.
