An alumni seminar within the project “Youth for Inclusion, Equality, and Trust” took place on 12-14 April at hotel Vila Breg in Vršac, bringing together participants from the two cycles of seminars to exchange experiences and ideas.
Throughout the project, young people, with the support of mentors, carried out a range of activities promoting inclusion and equality. The alumni seminar was an opportunity to present the results of their work and discuss future steps.
The youth presented seven successfully implemented initiatives on topics of gender equality, social inclusion, combating hate speech, and promoting social cohesion.
Particular emphasis was placed on advocacy activities. Nenad Jevtović from the Institute for Development and Innovation, and Svetlana Stefanović, Executive Director of the BFPE Foundation, discussed the importance of advocating for issues that youth are passionate about.
Another important topic at the seminar was peacebuilding. Sonja Licht, President of the BFPE Foundation, and Radmila Nakarada, retired professor from the Faculty of Political Sciences, shared their insights, highlighting the importance of dialogue and collaboration in achieving peace and stability in the community.
The alumni seminar represents just one segment of the project “Youth 4 Inclusion, Equality & Trust”, supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in partnership with UNFPA, UNESCO, and UN Women, with financial support from the United Nations Secretary-General’s Peacebuilding Fund. This project continues to inspire young people across the country and region to actively engage in building an inclusive and just society.
