The Foundation BFPE for Responsible Society, with the support of the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), has conducted a series of activities aimed at examining the impact of foreign direct investments on the local business community in Serbia.

Data gathered during local debates held in four cities – Zrenjanin, Čačak, Pirot, and Šabac – served as the basis for formulating recommendations. These debates were organized as one-day events to facilitate the participation of relevant stakeholders, including representatives of business associations, chambers of commerce, local communities, local governments, domestic, and foreign companies.

The research specifically focused on analyzing the impact of foreign direct investments on the local business community in Serbia. The goal was to map out the needs and challenges, exploring their influence on broader economic aspects, as well as on specific entities, including small and medium-sized enterprises, and large economic systems.

As a result of these activities, the BFPE Foundation for Responsible Society has crafted a publication titled “Foreign Direct Investments – Opportunity or Challenge for the Local Business Community.” The recommendations were formulated by the program team of the Foundation BFPE for Responsible Society, and the findings represent the views of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of individual participants or CIPE.
