Under the theme “Decarbonization of the Western Balkans Electro Energy System,” a workshop titled “EUETS Enabled Accession Roadmap” will be held on November 30 at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade. This workshop marks the first special session of the Balkan Dialogues series.
Following the Sofia Declaration on the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans and the Berlin Declaration on Energy Security and Green Transition, it is necessary to consider how to turn these proclamations into the reality of reforms and investments. The EU ETS Accession Roadmap represents a grassroots initiative presented at the Summit in Berlin in 2022 and is supported by key companies, civil society organizations, and international partners with the aim of becoming an integral part of the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.
The discussion will involve important decision-makers, representatives of the international community and the EU, experts in the fields of energy and environmental protection, as well as representatives of companies and the civil sector. They will discuss the most significant issues related to joining the European Emissions Trading System.
