The Foundation BFPE for a Responsible Society is part of the regional initiative Youth 4 Inclusion, Equality & Trust, implemented by UN agencies with the support of international donors. The project brings together young people from the Western Balkans region to promote peace, mutual understanding, and social cohesion through art, education, and activism.
Young people in the region continue to face the legacy of conflict, social divisions, and digital violence. However, they are increasingly responding in creative ways—through media literacy, positive narratives, and cross-border cooperation. The project provides them with space for dialogue, collaboration, and participation in decision-making processes.
In the first phase, the BFPE Foundation for a Responsible Society actively contributed to the project by organizing educational seminars in Serbia. Two groups of young participants (around 50 individuals) took part in a series of workshops and training sessions focused on communication, inclusion, and social cohesion. Through this program, they developed skills, exchanged experiences, and learned how to engage constructively in social processes.
At the regional level, more than 10,000 young people directly participated in over 160 events, while the project’s messages reached more than 8 million people through social media and campaigns. Young people also played a key role in youth strategy development, youth councils, and regional research on gender equality and social cohesion.
In the second phase, the Foundation BFPE for a Responsible Society will once again bring together youth from the region to encourage them—through artistic and activist approaches—to collaboratively shape positive social change. The first event, a three-day seminar titled ActiVibe – Creative Expression for Inclusion, Equality and Trust, will be held from 19 to 21 September, followed by additional activities in Albania by the end of the year, and in Serbia in 2025.
