A member of the Council for the Center for British Studies and an honorary member of the Anglo-Serbian Society, Professor Christopher Coker (1953-2023), passed away on September 5, 2023, at the age of 70. Professor Coker was a long-standing professor of international relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the director of LSE IDEAS, the academic think tank of the London School of Economics, which is considered one of the leading academic think tanks worldwide.

He was an active member of the Royal United Services Institute Council and a regular lecturer at defense academies in the United Kingdom, the United States, Rome, Singapore, and Tokyo.

Christopher often gave lectures, was a guest, or simply traveled throughout the region. It is difficult even to compile a list of all the lectures and participations in various conferences that Christopher had in Serbia (and Montenegro) from 2004 to 2023, but even an incomplete list includes over 50 such events. He was also a participant in the Belgrade Security Forum.

In May 2023, as part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the BFPE Foundation for Responsible Society and during his last visit to Serbia, he gave a lecture at the Faculty of Political Sciences on the topic of the war in Ukraine and its global consequences.

We express deep sorrow for the loss of a friend and a great long-term collaborator of the Foundation BFPE for Responsible Society.
