On Thursday, February 10, 2022, a meeting was held and organized by the Peaceful Change Initiative and the BFPE as a continuation of talks between representatives of think-tank and non-governmental organizations from Kosovo and Serbia held in November 2021.

The aim of the meeting was to present the most important events and developments within the dialogue from the perspective of Pristina, North Kosovo and Belgrade. So, the initial idea was to discuss the period between November 2021 and February 2022 in order to look at things from several different angles and identify key obstacles in the relationship. Participants in the conversation presented the changes and specific events that have affected or may affect relations in the future and pointed out the positive changes.

During the conversation, the participants concluded that the role of civil society is crucial for the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to the proactive actions by civil society and a more appropriate definition of the role of civil society so that changes in relations would be possible. The participants in the meeting agreed that it is important to focus on small steps and find a sustainable solution, as well as that productive communication is the basis of any progress. Thus, an agreement was reached on holding the next meeting in March 2022, because the frequency of holding the meeting is of crucial importance for the development of possible ideas and the improvement of relations.
