The second seminar of the Regional School for Political Development, titled “From Ideas to Action: Insights into Policy Making and Implementation,” was held in Skopje from June 14 to 16. The event aimed to bring together young people from the three participating countries of the Regional School – Croatia, North Macedonia, and Serbia, as a foundation for learning, development, practical work, and cooperation.
As the second of the three seminars envisaged by the Regional School, the event in Skopje focused on public policy creation, with a particular emphasis on topics the environment and green policy making. The panels, lectures, and workshops provided an overview of various aspects of this process – from the role of citizens and civil society organizations, through public policy instruments, principles of good governance, and elements of the policy cycle, to monitoring the success of implementation.
The participants will now continue their collaborative work online, with the help of mentors, to develop their green policy proposals. These proposals will be presented at the third and final seminar of the Regional School program in September in Serbia, where the main topic will be advocacy.
The project is implemented by the Academy for Political Development from Croatia, the Center for Research and Policy Making from North Macedonia, and the Foundation BFPE for a Responsible Society, with the support of the Erasmus+ program.
