Belgrade Security Forum 2019: Is there hope for justice in a divided world?

Ninth edition of the Belgrade Security Forum, under the title “Striving for Justice in a Divided World”, will take place from 16 to 18 October 2019, covering the topics of the retreat and liberalism, great power competition, sustainable solutions for the Western Balkans, Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and the deteriorating trust in the political and economic institutions.
Grand opening event on 17 October will focus on the challenges on the road to prosperity in the Western Balkans, with US Special Representative for the Western Balkans Matthew Palmer, former High Representative of the European Union Catherine Ashton and former French Ambassador to Serbia Frédéric Mondoloni among the speakers.
The Forum will also feature a special discussion on the military neutrality in the 21st century, with the speakers General Robert Brieger, Chief of Defence Staff at the Austrian Ministry of Defence, and Genral Milan Mojsilović, Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces.
Other speakers include Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Ambassador Andrea Orizio, Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council Majlinda Bregu, Secretary General of the Council of Europe as Head of the Belgrade Office Tobias Flessenkemper, Secretary-General of Bled Strategic Forum Peter Grk and others.
Launched in 2011, the Belgrade Security Forum is the largest civil society event in Serbia, organised by the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence, the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy and the European Movement in Serbia.
