The second meeting of the Advisory Group of the joint European Union and Council of Europe program ROMACTED II – Promoting Good Governance and Empowering the Roma Community at the Local Level will take place on November 23, 2023, at the Radisson Old Mill Hotel.

The meeting will provide an opportunity to present achievements to relevant partners at the local, national, and international levels. There are plans to discuss future activities and potential synergies, creating space for a discussion on further steps.

A particular focus of the meeting will be dedicated to the Analysis of the representation of topics from the history and culture of the Roma in educational programs in primary and secondary schools in the Republic of Serbia. Additionally, a draft of Guidelines for responsible budgeting towards Roma men and women at the local level will be presented. This segment of the meeting aims to achieve a deeper understanding and promote inclusivity in public policies.

Furthermore, the meeting will serve as an opportunity to present the Roma Integration Phase III project, which has been implemented this year under the auspices of the Council of Europe with the support of the European Union. The main goal of this project is to strengthen the capacities of governments in the Western Balkans and Turkey to effectively respond to the diverse challenges facing the Roma community through the formulation and implementation of comprehensive public policies supporting the integration of Roma men and women.
