The conference “Improving environmental protection at the local level through the work of informal green advisory groups” was organized on February 28, 2023 in Belgrade.
The participants of the first panel were Miloš Đajić in the role of moderator in front of the Center for Modern Skills, Ljubinka Kaluđerović in front of the Standing Conference of Cities and Municipalities as well as Lazar Jovičić in front of Coalition 27. They spoke about the framework of local policy in the field of environmental protection and waste management where they presented their insights and conclusions.
The moderator of the second panel was Lidija Radulović, program coordinator at the Foundation BFPE for a Responsible Society, while the participants were Zoran Rus, president of the Sombor town assembly, and Boban Đunić, president of the Niš town assembly. They shared with the participants their experiences and opinions on the work of informal parliamentary and councilor groups in the promotion of green policies.
This was followed by a discussion among those present on environmental priorities and problems and ways in which informal green advisory groups can contribute to solving these problems.
Green Local Parliamentary Groups are established within the project Increased Engagement Of Local Parliamentarians In 5 Cities In Serbia In Dealing With Green Policies, through the transfer of knowledge from the Green Parliamentary Group of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, supported by the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI).
