The Informal Green Parliamentary Group (GPG) held a working meeting on Tuesday, November 2, in the Green Hall of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, to discuss the initiatives for establishing Green Local Assemblies Groups.
The cities proposed for launching such initiatives are Sombor; Smederevo; Bor; Zaječar and Niš. The MPs agreed that, before contacting local institutions, it is necessary to develop a methodology for the functioning of the Green Local Assemblies Groups. In addition, GPG members coming from cities where initiatives have been proposed will personally advocate to local authorities for the establishment of Green Local Assemblies Groups in their cities. The MPs also expressed the wish that the establishment of the Green Local Assemblies Groups be initiated in other local self-governments, not only in the five mentioned.
