The first session of Working Group 15 of the NK EU, in the new convocation, was held on February 29, 2024. The BFPE Foundation coordinates the work of Working Group 15 of the EU National Convention dealing with energy and in 2024 plans to be even more active in issues of energy and sustainable development.

The session of the Working Group was opened by Svetlana Stefanović, executive director of the BFPE Foundation, and Aleksandar Kovačević, an expert in the field of energy from the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, presented to the members of the working group the initiative for the inclusion of the Western Balkans in the European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS).

For many years, the BFPE Foundation has been insisting on efforts to raise awareness and knowledge about energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, green economy, ensuring citizen participation and encouraging much better cooperation of all actors involved in the creation and implementation of a more responsible and comprehensive energy policy.

Priorities for 2024 were determined at the session. The activities and work of the Working Group will intensify in the coming period. The importance and necessity of partnership and cooperation between members of the Working Group is particularly emphasized.
