The regional United Nations initiative ‘Youth 4 Inclusion, Equality & Trust’ empowers young people to engage in constructive narratives, strengthen intercultural dialogue, inclusion, gender equality and create mutual understanding and trust in the Western Balkans. The two-year initiative aims at enhancing the role of youth in promoting increased comprehension and respect for diversity.
With this initiative, BFPE is organizing seminars for persons aged 18 to 30, active in political parties, civil society organizations, or in their communities. Through a series of interactive workshops and lectures, young people will acquire new skills that will help them contribute to encouraging and promoting constructive narratives, building mutual trust, strengthening dialogue between different cultures and including members from all parts of the society in important decision-making processes.
The first group of participants will have the opportunity to attend three seminars over a period of 6 months (February – July 2023), which will be dedicated to topics in the field of social cohesion and intercultural dialogue, the fight against hate speech and the promotion of social cohesion. Participants will have the opportunity to work with prominent trainers and experts in these fields from Serbia and the region. By April 2024, two groups of 50 participants in total will attend educational seminars organized by BFPE, and gain knowledge required to become leaders of change in their communities.
The participants will also have the opportunity to go through the mentoring process in areas that they define within the theme of the project, and they will be supported by experienced members of political parties, civil society organizations and community leaders.
Implementation of “Youth 4 Inclusion, Equality & Trust” is led by UNDP Serbia in collaboration with UNFPA, UNESCO and UN Women, and financially supported by the UN Secretary-General’s Peacebuilding Fund.
