In the first week of July, Belgrade Security Forum team selected papers for its academic pre-event; think-tank panel; and volunteers, without whom the event would not be possible.

This year’s academic event will be organized on October 17, under the title “How conflict sensitive is EU crisis response?”, and it will consist of one keynote speech, two panels and a concluding remarks.

Eight panelists have been selected on the basis of their academic excellence, through the open Call for Papers that was widely distributed to various interested audiences, but also among the participants of the project EUNPACK.

This year’s Academic Event will be organized and partially funded from this project, in cooperation with the Brussels think-tank Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS).

The keynote speech, that traditionally opens the BSF Academic Event, will be delivered by Professor Roger Mac Ginty from the School of Government and International Affairs at Durham University.

Next, thanks to the OSF financial support, this is the second year that we organize a BSF panel for think-tankers from the Western Balkans.

The panelists are selected through an open call for policy papers which this year was entitled ‘Balkan 2025 – What Kind of Future Can We Expect?’.

Among a number of high-quality applications from the region, we have selected four policy papers (from Skoplje, Belgrade, Podgorica and Athens) that will be presented at the BSF 2018.

You can check last year papers and other analysis here.

And finally, upon reviewing all the applications and conducting a series of interviews during June, the BSF Team is pleased to announce that 28 volunteers have been selected to join other volunteers and the BSF Team during the eighth Belgrade Security Forum to be held on October 17-19, 2018 in Belgrade.
