Masterclass for documentary photographers from Serbia and Kosovo was held in Belgrade from 21 to 23 June 2018. This event, which took place in the Cultural Center Parobrod, gathered around ten photographers who were selected through public call. The expert team of the Dutch foundation Forhanna with whose help we organized this event did the selection of participants. Forhanna also provided the lecturers – Lotti Pronk and Marc Pruest who are well known names in the area of photo and video production. The participants had the opportunity to find out more about the storytelling through photography, but also to work with the lecturers on their own portfolios. The master class was organized as a side event to the photo exhibition For Hanna, Future Stories from the Past by the founder of Forhanna foundation, famous Dutch photographer Villem Poelstra. This is an exhibition of photos of the victims of the conflict in Kosovo on both sides with the following stories about their lives. The exhibition will be opened on 25 June and will last until 13 July in Parobrod. Also as a side event to the exhibition, on 29 June, there will be a panel discussion organized with the title Kosovo between the past, present and future – how can documentary photography infect the reality.

This master class was organized within the project Changing Minds: Trust through the Innovation, which Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence implements together with partner organizations – D4D from Prishtina, NGO Aktiv from Kosovska Mitrovica and Transconflict from Belgrade.
