Foundation BFPE for a Responsible Society, as a Support Organization to the Local Office of the Council of Europe in Belgrade, continued its activities within the joint ROMACTED II program: “Promoting good governance and Roma empowerment at the local level” in the period from June 21st to July 1st, 2021. and visited Subotica, Kragujevac, Kostolac, Apatin and Bač.

The initial meeting in front of city of Subotica was attended by Stevan Nikolic, coordinator for Roma inclusion of the city of Subotica, Ilija Djukanovic, member of the city council for social issues and health, Magda Fehervari, deputy secretary for social activities, Klaudija Kurina, coordinator for Roma inclusion in Subotica and Milutin Blazic on behalf of the Secretariat for Social Activities. In Kragujevac, the meeting was attended by dr Gordana Damnjanovic, a member of the city council for health and social protection and Ivana Obradovic Stanic, an advisor in the field of human and minority rights and gender equality in city council.

The city municipality of Kostolac was represented by the president of the city municipality, Serdzo Krstanoski, the deputy president, Darko Grubetic, the assistant to the president, Maja Zdravkovic, and a member of the council of the city municipality, Bajram Morina. The municipality of Apatin was represented by Danijela Injac, a member of the mobile team and coordinator for Roma issues, and Mane Škorić, head of the municipal administration. The municipality of Bac was represented by the president of the municipality Stevan Panić and Nikola Banjac.

On behalf of the Council of Europe, the regional manager for the ROMACTED program Marina Vasić and the ROMACTED project assistant Časlav Ninković were present.

Foundation BFPE for a Responsible Society as a Support Organization in the second phase of the ROMACTED program in Serbia was represented by the program coordinator and focal point Svetlana Stefanović, program coordinator Stefan Vladisavljev and program assistant Radomir Aleksić.

In the cities and municipalities that were part of the first phase of the program, the results and experiences in the implementation of the program so far were presented, as well as innovations and further steps in the implementation of the second phase. It was emphasized that the second phase represents support to both local authorities and the Roma community to recognize common challenges, but also potential cooperation for mutual benefit.

ROMACTED II is a joint program of the European Union and the Council of Europe, which is a continuation of the first phase of the ROMACTED program in the Western Balkans and Turkey (2017-2020).
