ROMACTED II, “Promoting good governance and Roma empowerment at local level”, is a Joint Programme between the European Union (DG NEAR) and the Council of EuropeBFPE is a national support team in Serbia during II phase of ROMACTED Programme. Programme aims at consolidating and expanding efforts to improve the integration of the Roma population in the local communities through increased participation in local policy-making and implementation of local action. As in Phase I of the program, ROMACTED II will continue to help local authorities integrate specific dimensions / measures for Roma into regular local policies, action plans related to these policies, budgets and the provision of public services, thus improving democratic participation and empowerment of local Roma communities.

The Programme is implemented by the Council of Europe’s Roma and Travellers Team and the Office of the Directorate General of Programmes in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Turkey.

The Phase I of the Programme was implemented in the period starting from 1 May 2017 until 31 December 2020.

The Phase II is implemented from 1 January 2021 until 31 December 2024.

In addition to the Strasbourg-based team, the Programme has project staff in the Council of Europe offices in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey, and a national support team in each of the Beneficiaries.
