BFPE, as the Support Organization of the Local Office of the Council of Europe in Belgrade, started the implementation of the joint program ROMACTED II: “Promoting good governance and Roma empowerment at the local level” with an initial visit to the City Municipality of Zvezdara and meeting with its officials.

The City Municipality of Zvezdara is one of 14 municipalities / local self-government units in which a joint program is implemented. In addition to Zvezdara, in the second phase of the ROMACTED program also participate: Aleksinac, Apatin, Bac, Kostolac, Kragujevac, Krusevac, Lebane, Nis, Pirot, Prokuplje, Subotica, Vrnjacka Banja and Zajecar.

The initial meeting in front of the city municipality of Zvezdara was attended by the president of the city municipality Vladan Jeremic, the coordinator of the mobile team Sinisa Marinkovic and the independent advisor for the implementation of the strategic development plan Zlatko Petrin. On behalf of the Local Office of the Council of Europe in Belgrade, the regional manager for the ROMACTED program Marina Vasić and the ROMACTED project assistant Časlav Ninković were present.

BFPE as the Support Organization of the second phase of the ROMACTED Program in Serbia was represented by the program coordinator and focal point Svetlana Stefanović, program coordinator Stefan Vladisavljev and program assistant Radomir Aleksić.

The initial meeting was dedicated to the presentation of activities in the coming period as well as the analysis and lessons learned from the first phase of the program.

ROMACTED II is a joint program of the European Union and the Council of Europe, which is a continuation of the first phase of the ROMACTED program in the Western Balkans and Turkey (2017-2020).
