On the occasion of the presentation of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany to BFPE President, Sonja Licht, Ambassador of Germany to Belgrade Axel Dittmann organised a reception at his residence.

Ambassador Dittmann said that Sonja is a tireless fighter for human rights and democracy. Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić said that Sonja definitely deserved to receive this Order, as a fighter for human rights and freedom, protector of democracy and as someone who contributed to the democratization of the overall political culture in Serbia.
Sonja thanked by saying how this was a positive acknowledgement for everything she has done in the last five decades and pointed that it also entails a great responsibility.

Sonja became the first Serbian citizen to be awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
