On Tuesday, 22 May, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier awarded 24 citizens with the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bellevue Palace.
President of the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence, Ms. Sonja Licht is among awarded with this high-ranking order. Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany is awarded to fighters for human rights, freedom and democracy.
As it stands in her biography, Sonja dedicated over 50 years to tireless fight for human rights and democracy. Sonja is one of the few foreigners who have received this order and the First Serb to whom it was assigned.
