The second event of the Annual Seminar organized by the Foundation BFPE was successfully concluded in Niš.
The event brought together 20 participants from different parts of Serbia, with different professional and academic backgrounds, including public administration, the private sector, civil society, local government, journalism, IT, culture, and education.
The participants had the opportunity to listen to and actively participate in 5 panels led by relevant experts. Ana Stojiljković, a researcher at the University of Loughborough, spoke on the topic “Between Local and Global Narratives: Chinese Covid-19 Diplomacy done the Serbian Way.” Dubravka Grčić Nedeljković, an advisor at the Ministry for European Integration, and Katerina Jakimovska, a senior project associate at the Wilfried Martens Center for European Studies, held a panel discussion focusing on the future of European integration of Western Balkans countries, particularly addressing the Growth Plan and the phased accession process.
At the second event, there were also discussions on security issues. Marko Savković, a senior advisor at the ISAC Fund, spoke on the topic “Serbia’s Security Positioning in the Era of Global Conflicts.” Panels also addressed the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, with contributions from Milica Andrić Rakić from the New Social Initiative and Ramadan Ilazi, the head of research at the Kosovo Center for Security Studies. Finally, Danijel Nikolić, Deputy Secretary-General of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, discussed the current topic of Serbia-China relations, posing the question of what defines the relationship between the two countries.
In addition to the panels, two interactive workshops on leadership and debate and argumentation were held by Svetlana Stefanović and Stefan Vladisavljev from the Foundation BFPE.
