As local partner for the region of the Western Balkans, the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence participates in the “Balkans 360” initiative, whose main goal is to contribute to “innovative and coherent involvement” of the United States and Germany in the processes of Euro-Atlantic integration in the Western Balkans region; “empower mutual understanding and capacity” for cooperative approaches to current and emerging security challenges in the region; “broaden and deepen constructive networks” of professionals active in the region, with special emphasis on alumni networks of the George Marshall Center, GMF and BFPE.

In the first phase, several events are envisaged: meeting of alumni of partner organisations in Garmisch Partenkirchen from 18 to 22 June; session at the 8th Belgrade Security Forum, taking place on 18 October, 2018; first seminar which will gather key stakeholders in Berlin, 24 October; second meeting of the alumni of the program in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in late November; and finally, second seminar with key stakeholders, to be held in early March, in the region itself.

The main outcome of the initiative will be a report with recommendations, to be presented at the next Brussels Forum in June 2019.
