Program description:
The need to further develop capacities of the holders of political power in Serbia has never been greater. In order to meet ever increasing requests arising from the accession process to the European Union, being the dominant framework for the modernization of our society, it has become necessary to further improve and adapt political education programs.
Our intention is to offer a comprehensive program that is adapted to the actual needs and challenges met at both local and national level of government, while appreciating the experiences of our alumni and avoiding ex cathedra approach.
To this end, BFPE will continue to implement methods of reform compass (in cooperation with Bertelsmann Foundation) and strategic foresight; case studies, (decision-making) simulations, as well as other interactive work methods.
We implement our activities through following programs: Annual Seminar, Regional Policy Academy (as continuation to the Regional Academy for Democracy) and Women’s Leadership Academy.
BFPE recognizes as its key, traditional partners in this program area the Council of Europe, Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies, the European Fund for the Balkans, the British and Canadian Embassy in Serbia as well as the USAID.

Dialogue for the Future
The Dialogue for the Future project was developed on the initiative and under the auspices of the BiH Presidency, implemented from 2014 to 2017, and contributed to the establishment of a digital platform and the holding of a series of youth forums across the country.

Active Citizens – Better Society: Advocating for Cooperation and Democratic Development
The stability of democratic institutions and the rule of law is unthinkable without the active participation of civil society and citizens in public policy-making, problem solving, recognition and realisation of the potential that is necessary for progress of a community. Advocacy plays a key role in strengthening democratic processes and moving towards a democratic society based on a culture of citizen participation.

Comparative analysis of Western Balkans and Visegrad countries’ approach towards China
The aim of the study is to make a comparative analysis of this impact, which, on the one hand, is accepted as welcomed and it is considered that the benefits that come with it should be fully utilised. On the other hand, it raises skepticism and certain issues and questions related to the real nature of these investments.

Regional Policy Academy
Behind the concept of RPA is the idea that by applying the method of strategic forecasting to complex social problems (in Western Balkans) we can contribute to strengthening of cooperation and communication between the leaders of change and thinking in the region.

Policy makers in Serbia must be open to other people's experiences, knowledge and skills; willing to cooperate, to know to ask for advice, but also to be able to finally make decisions in accordance with standards of the EU and the best interest of their citizens.

Regional Academy for Democracy (RAD)
RAD aims to contribute to regional cooperation in the Western Balkans in the areas of democracy, human rights, justice and institution-building, capacity-building through a new generation of political leadership and facilitating their mutual understanding and cooperation.
